what does risk assessment mean to you?

Risk Free Money, to Value Investing!

When investing, a good portfolio manager will ask you about your “attitude to risk”, with Sports Investing of any kind of investing it’s perhaps more pertinent to ask what a person’s “attitude to loss” is. With any investment there will always be losses, shares can go down as well as up!

Could I have made more money underlaying?

I’ve also re-analyzed the bets I’ve made since August to see what would’ve happened if I didn’t lay them off at all – not risk free!! … interestingly enough this re-analysis showed that I would have made £250 more over the offers I’ve bet on – which is about 33% up on what I have made

1st Target is sooo Close

It’s been a week and it’s been more than I could have hoped for! my 1st target of £2k is within tasting distance ..

Last week I left you with “taking a punt”, but not really, as my investment was always gonna win something

No betting, it’s all about Bingo!

Profit: £160 – I was really surprised to get the same offer twice in 2 weeks but I wasn’t gonna pass them up. There is only 1 type of Bingo offer that is Risk Free and it doesn’t appear that often, or so I thought.

Happy Hogmanay, a Nice End to the Year

Yippee!! wasn’t going to do an End of Year report , but just a quick post as I not only reached my mini target of £1500 I smashed it :) – with £88 in 1 x week! ….. “if they won I got nearly twice the profit I would have done.. this technique is called “underlaying”. It paid off for me on both occasions, which is also lucky!”

Calm Before The Storm

Another average week, anything over £25 is not to be sneezed at, with the profit increasing by £57!

A breakdown of this just because and to show that very few ‘bets’ are actually going on:

Bingo – £18, Risk free Games – £25, 2 Free Bet offers – £14

Trading a lot, pennies make pounds

But there’s a gotcha, I don’t know If I’ll reach this target so I’m setting myself another goal and that is to not make a loss on the qualifying trades. It would normally be expected to make a few pennies loss on each qualifying trade, but worth it because the prize is greater than the loss, however in this case because I’m not sure I can turnover enough to reach the target, I’m making it harder for myself and using it to practice research skills.

Time flies when you’re enjoying yourself..

Had a bumper weekend last weekend (17th and 18th) ~ I hit a bit of luck on a freebie (no risk to me) slot game as well as managing to grab a rather profitable first time offer for text ‘betting’. .. unlike the usual adage of “if it’s too good to be true it usually is..” this one paid off :)

So sum total for last weekend was approx. £140! – Wish they could all be like that.

Andy Murray achieved his first major aim this week, I'm more determined than ever to keep at mine!!

Aim #1 – plus £70

I will not bet (invest) into a sporting event that I get too emotional about.. i.e. the Andy Murray US Open victory, offers were flying at me left right and centre for this match, but because I couldn’t work out the best way to use them along with the few bookies I have & I had the “I want him to win” mentality.. then I just left well alone – there will be another day

Trading.. a little but mostly I’ve been playing Games.. for profit!

Over the course of the the last few weeks I’ve taken part in 14 offers – I’ve lost 6 times – which was an outlay of £40 though all has been refunded so it was not lost really and the other 8 times I’ve played I’ve turned £57 into £238 – a profit of £181
